European Renewable Energy – SI Capital

SI Capital Private Equity, headquartered in Barcelona, has been active in the renewable energy sector since 2004. Its first private equity fund, R&S I, a corporate drawdown vehicle regulated by the CNMV, had its first financial close in March 2007. In May 2011 STIG invested in R&S I joining major Spanish industrial family offices (including Roca, Lladro and Entrecanales). A team of six investment and legal professionals led by Sebastian Waldburg, Eusebio Güell and Michael Covington, now manages €16m. To date six investments have been made by R&S I (solar PV, solar thermal, wind and biomass) and in October 2011 it achieved its first realisation (IRR of high teens, 2.0x cash-on-cash).
